CURIOSITIES: O Pillabán started out as a restaurant with a daily menu and a hostel where to stay in A Rúa, until Juan took over, and the place changed. At O Pillabán you can go to eat from the menu, you can go to celebrate, the cuisine is tasty and appetizing, and you can and should go to taste wines if you are in or passing through Valdeorras region (easter part of Galicia famous for its Godello grape). This blessed madness, in a secluded place in the Sil Valley, is maintained thanks to two lovers, not only wine lovers, Juan and Noelia, who lent a hand from summer to summer and is now, in addition to adorable, practically indispensable. Juan in the kitchen and Juan in his wines, is in charge of everything, a restless mind that advances by leaps and bounds. Besides tasting his traditional dishes with very original touches, you can already taste his crafted natural wines elaborated a few meters from the restaurant, in what used to be a bulk wine cellar of his grandfather “Tachín” who gives his name to the project. An experience worthy of a stop on the winter road.
