Suitable for

A glass of Albariño, please! Wait, NOT in this case . This wine deserves a long after-dinner meal

Viticulture and vinification

100% Albariño . 13.00 % Vol. Alc. . Five selected old vines (50-100 years) microplots on granite soils facing the Atlantic ocean . Trying, if climate conditions allows it, to carry out organic practices both viticulture and winemaking . Native yeasts and aging on lees in stainless steel tanks for over a year or so . Without stirring, without clarifying, neither filtering . 69 arrobas, equivalent to 1,000 liters, which were made in its first vintage . The 2019 vintage has 3,900 bottles

Tasting notes

Lemon yellow color . Citrus on the nose, lemon zest, apple, and peach and honey hints . On the palate, the same, tasty, fresh, saline (powerful Atlantic influence) and a wonderful acidity that gives its sharp final touch . A very long wine, even if it continues sleeping for a few more years

Winery things

Bodegas Albamar (“official” name since 2006) was born long before the incorporation of Xurxo Alba, son of a mason who was dedicated to making bulk wine from the vineyards that the family has near Cambados, Galicia and was served in the “furancho” (typical family small bar/restaurant in Galicia) that he rans with his wife . Xurxo, after studying oenology, took the business, expanded the vineyard, and began making “fun, versatile wines, with moderate degrees, and natural freshness”, a style perspective highly demanded in today’s market
