Viticulture and vinification
100% Godello . 12.50% Vol. Alc. . Centennial vines planted in sandy clay soils . Fermentation and aging for 12 months in used 500 liters French oak barrels . The Godello variety, with great aging capacity, is a perfect one for having, maintaining, and taking advantage of wood’s touch, something similar to the effect sought in Burgundy Chardy
Tasting notes
Pronounced nose . Volume with freshness in the mouth . Citrus and white fruit balanced with toasted bread and almond hints from its brief “flor” oxidation . Appetizing, tasty, with a long and delicious aftertaste
Winery things
César Márquez, a Berciano (Bierzo region – north west of León province – Castilla y León), descendant of Castro Ventosa winery saga, started his own project in 2015 betting on fresh areas and old vineyards . His purpose is to recover varieties and the shape of a vine, hence the name of the wine; the salvation of a few Godello vines camouflaged among Mencía vines, recovering the plants and giving it a new life
